I understood medicine — but I still couldn't find the answers I needed.
I'm a functional medicine practitioner, health coach, and pharmacist with more than 27 years of experience. I hold a master's degree and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, and I founded ROSE SAGE Wellness LLC to support busy women over 40 who are struggling with anxiety, poor sleep, changing energy, and the feeling that they are no longer themselves.
My Path to Functional Medicine
My path to functional medicine began with my own health journey.
For over 10 years, I struggled through perimenopause with hot flashes, anxiety, and disrupted sleep. I visited multiple healthcare providers, underwent numerous tests, and tried different prescriptions. Still, I felt that the complete picture of what I was experiencing was not being explored.
As a pharmacist, I understood the value of conventional medicine. It plays an essential role in diagnosing disease, providing treatment, managing medications, performing surgery, and responding to urgent and life-threatening conditions.
But my experience also showed me that conventional healthcare providers often have limited time to explore how a person's nutrition, stress, sleep, environment, relationships, responsibilities, personal history, and daily habits may be connected.
I wanted to understand how all those pieces fit together.
That search led me to functional medicine.
Looking at the Whole Person
Functional medicine gave me the framework I had been searching for: an approach that considers the whole person rather than viewing each concern in isolation.
It encouraged me to ask deeper questions:
- When did these concerns begin?
- What was happening before they appeared?
- What patterns exist across nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, and daily life?
- What demands are being placed on the body and mind?
- What factors may be interfering with a person's ability to feel and function at her best?
- What personalized support could help her build a stronger foundation for wellness?
This approach is not a rejection of conventional healthcare. It is a complementary way of looking at the broader picture and helping women become informed, active participants in their well-being.
Finding the Courage to Practice Differently
Following this path brought uncertainty.
I wondered what people would think about a pharmacist moving into functional medicine. Would they assume I was against medication? Would they question why someone with a pharmaceutical background was now also talking about nutrition, supplements, sleep, stress, and lifestyle?
I experienced imposter syndrome, too. Even with advanced education and decades of professional experience, stepping into a new role required me to trust both my training and my lived experience.
Eventually, I realized that these parts of my background did not have to compete.
My pharmacy education gave me a strong scientific foundation and an understanding of medications. Functional medicine taught me to consider the many interconnected factors that influence well-being. Health coaching gave me the tools to help women turn personalized recommendations into practical, sustainable action.
Together, these perspectives shaped the approach I now bring to ROSE SAGE Wellness.
The Moment Everything Began to Change
As I applied functional medicine principles to my own life, I began making more informed and intentional choices involving nutrition, supplements, sleep, stress, and daily routines.
Gradually, I began to feel better and more like myself.
I also began sharing what I was learning with friends and family. Watching them become more informed, confident, and engaged in their own wellness journeys showed me how meaningful this work could be.
I knew I wanted to help other women find the clarity and support I had spent years seeking.
Why I Created ROSE SAGE Wellness
ROSE SAGE Wellness is for the busy woman over 40 who is managing everything while quietly struggling herself.
She may be balancing motherhood, a demanding career, household responsibilities, and care for aging family members. At the same time, she may be dealing with anxiety, restless nights, changing energy, difficulty maintaining healthy routines, or the unfamiliar transitions of midlife.
She may have already sought medical care but still want more time and personalized guidance to explore the bigger picture of her well-being.
She does not need another generic plan or an overwhelming list of rules. She needs to be heard, supported, and seen as a whole person.

My Functional Medicine Approach
My approach is personalized, collaborative, and grounded in the understanding that the different areas of our lives are interconnected.
Rather than focusing on a concern in isolation, I take time to understand your story, health and wellness history, nutrition, sleep, stress, environment, responsibilities, daily routines, and personal goals. Together, we explore patterns and potential contributors that may be affecting how you feel and function.
From there, I develop practical recommendations designed to support your wellness goals and fit your real life.
Depending on your individual needs and the scope of our work, your personalized plan may include:
- A comprehensive review of your health and wellness history
- Nutrition education and personalized nutrition support
- Supplement education and wellness-focused recommendations
- Lifestyle and behavior modifications
- Sleep-support strategies
- Stress-management and restorative practices
- Movement recommendations
- Support in establishing sustainable routines
- Preparation for more productive conversations with your medical providers
- Accountability and ongoing refinement of your wellness plan
I do not use one-size-fits-all protocols. Every recommendation is considered within the context of your concerns, goals, preferences, responsibilities, and current healthcare plan.
Because supplements can interact with medications and may not be appropriate for everyone, supplement recommendations should be reviewed with the licensed healthcare professional responsible for your medical or medication care when appropriate.
What Makes My Approach Different
My perspective has been shaped by three important parts of my journey:
- More than 27 years of experience as a pharmacist
- A functional medicine framework that considers the whole person
- My personal experience of spending nearly a decade searching for answers during perimenopause
I understand what it feels like to be knowledgeable, proactive, and committed to your health — and still feel unheard, overwhelmed, or unsure about what to do next.
That is why I begin by listening.
I want to understand what you are experiencing and how it is affecting your work, relationships, confidence, responsibilities, and quality of life. Then we create a personalized, practical path that helps you move forward with greater clarity.
The Transformation I Want for You
I want you to wake up feeling rested instead of already depleted. I want you to move through your day with a greater sense of calm, clarity, and steady energy — without anxiety and poor sleep affecting how you show up at work, at home, and for the people who depend on you.
You may be building a career, raising a family, caring for aging parents — or carrying all three roles at once. You are accustomed to being capable, dependable, and present for everyone else. But lately, you may feel overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, or disconnected from the woman you know yourself to be.
Through our work together, you will gain a clearer understanding of the patterns that may be influencing how you feel. We will create a personalized and realistic plan involving nutrition, supplements, sleep, stress, movement, and lifestyle support — one that fits into your responsibilities rather than adding another burden to them.
My goal is to help you feel more like yourself again: calmer, more rested, more energized, and better able to be present for your family, your career, and — just as importantly — yourself.
You do not have to keep pushing through each day while placing your own well-being last. You deserve the same thoughtful care and attention you give so freely to everyone else.
That is why I created ROSE SAGE Wellness: to give busy women over 40 the personalized guidance, practical tools, and ongoing support they need to make their well-being a priority and move toward feeling their best.
